I could use a cupcake

The last time I had cake was at Christmas. One of the spouses of a grandson made 3 different kinds and brought over Christmas Eve for Angela's birthday. I had like 2 bites from one. I had those 15 pounds to lose in order to have the surgery.

These cupcakes look all yummy with a ton of chocolate frosting. Actually,in real life, I don't like frosting and always scraped it off.

I used the same Hope Jacare digital image and colored with Copics. Added Diamond Glaze to the icing and the heart shaped wooden button. I colored the button with a very dark brown Copic marker first. The chocolate paper is my last scrap. If I ever see it again I will buy a few sheets. I forgot to add the ribbon trim before I put the blue paper on the card base so I had to chop off at the edges. Hope it stays looking nice. I debated just leaving it off. The lines in the blue paper are built in glitter. The tiny strawberries are Jolees and I have had them for years. The word art is from TLC

Let them eat Cake!

I finished this card today. I will be sending it to Ms Sherry for her birthday which is next Saturday. It won't be mailed until Monday so I hope it gets to her in time. I couldn't help myself. I had to use the Simply Sentiments colors of pink and brown. I colored the Hope Jacare digital image with Copics. Added Diamond Glaze and Sakura Crystal Lacquer to the icings and decorations on the cakes. The sentiment is a digital one from TLC. It took about 4 tries of printing it out before I was able to get the tag just right with my Sizzix Sizzlet. The pattern papers both have built in gloss trims. The polka dots are shiny and also some of the trim on the other paper. Topped it all off with some Prima Flowers.

At TLC she is starting a new word art club to start on October 30 and go for 21 days. For $15 you get something sent to your e-mail every day. I did her holiday club last month and really enjoyed it. This one will be centered around manly, music, and merriment. She sent me a freebie today that says "Real men eat cupcakes". Check it out, the link is on my sidebar.

Same image, two cards.

Looks like it has been a few days since I updated. I finished two cards this morning. The scarecrow is a digital image but I neglected to list the artist when I downloaded. Sorry. The digital word art on both cards is from TLC. The card with the word art that says pumpkin was interesting to work with. The pumpkin was a cut out, not sure how to explain that. I sized a download of leaf paper from from TLC that was part of her holiday club. I then sized the word art and merged it on top of the paper image. The leaf paper showed through the pumpkin word. Does that make sense the way I am explaining? lol I think it was pretty cool. A first for me. The flower cutouts on both cards are from a Cloud Nine small size paper pad. Added some Swarovski crystals to both cards and called it good.

Apple picking time

I am so glad to be finished with the Halloween cards. It was very refreshing to move onto something else. My daughter Candy was here today and she made several Halloween cards.

This card was made with a digital vintage image and word art from TLC. I have had the image printed for some time just waiting for me to get it colored. I colored with Copics of course. I used a glaze pen on the apples. I was amazed at shiny they looked with the brand new pen I opened.

Today at Michaels I used my 50% off coupon on a 10 pack of Sakura Souffle pens. Not quite what I expected but they will be fun to use. I have on order and it should come any day now, Sakura crystal lacquer. It is in a little tube or bottle and I will have 18 different colors. Love the new toys! Don't we all.

The last one

This is my last Halloween card of the year. Did I say that before? I may make one more for my Angela but she just might get one I have already made. I am truly tired of making them. I have made 16. I am almost done putting all of my Halloween supplies in their special box. I guess the next thing I need to do with the cards is decide who they are going to and get them all addressed. I have enjoyed looking at the cards. I put them all on a little Ikea shelf as I made them so I could enjoy them.

This last one is a Bugaboo digital image. I printed on the background then printed again on the purple card stock and cut it out. Added some black Stickles on the frame and some green to his eyes. A little purple to his scar. I love the little spider brad. The square buttons I have had in my stash box. This card will go to my 5 year old great grandson. He likes skulls.

A Fall card for a friend

Just a quick post. I wanted to share the card I sent to my friend Debby in Israel. She received it yesterday. I enjoyed making this card. The digital collage image is from gingerloft. It was released a few years ago as a stamp and now she is selling them as digitals. I used Word to merge the sentiment from TLC with the main image. The sentiment seemed perfect considering the clock on the image. I printed it out on a neutral background and colored parts of the image with Copics. I used Diamond Glaze on the leaves to make them pop. I used an edge distress-er and then followed up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. For the final touch I used 2 gold skeleton leaves.

I have been sick for days with a cold. Wish it would go away.

Whatever was I thinking!

I wanted to chat a little bit about craft items we buy and then wonder why we did it.

Lets talk about the card with the pumpkin and little boy. I loved this digital image when I bought it. Made what I thought was a pretty cute card with it a few months ago. My first Halloween card of the year. A couple of months ago I was going through my box of Halloween supplies and what do I find? Last year a friend sent me some leftover vintage images she had and here was one of this little boy. Full color and so sweet. The shop I had bought the image from had reworked it into a digital version. Had placed a jack-o-lantern face on the pumpkin. Now I could use Copic markers for years and never be able to color like the original picture. Maybe someday I will reuse this image. What I really want to talk about is the pumpkin shaped Nestabilities. I just HAD to have this set. Paid over $18 for it. Every time I have tried to use it I just can't seem to make a card work. Money down the toilet.

On to the card with the cat. This was done with a large Sizzix die. Got it on sale for $10. Yes, I had to have it even knowing that I don't use the few dies I have. I must have cut a dozen of these cats with different papers and just plain black. I wound up using one. It just looked to darn plain on a card. I had a real problem giving it some eyes that didn't look stupid. I am a far cry from an artist. Erica finally did some eyes for me. I added some little green gems that were the right shape so it does work. The background is a digital image from Digital Two For Tuesday.

Probably my costliest buy was an air compressor for my Copics. I thought about it for months before I leaped. I would like to leap back. That cost me almost $200. What I have not splurged on? A Cricut. We won't even talk about the money I have put into Copic Sketch markers. I have somewhere around 225 of them. You do the math.

Bugaboo images today.

These 3 cards were all made with Bugaboo digital images. The little boys are called bobblehead Frank. The one that says Trick or Treat is for the 3 year old great grandson. Couldn't put on buttons or anything that he could pull off and swallow. The one with the tree goes to the 6 year old great grandson. I put googly eyes on the eyeballs that were already on the tree. I washed the entire bottom portion with a watered down solution of Diamond Glaze. The Frank images I colored with Copics and cut out. Added both images to Fiskars punchouts. The cat in the shoe is a card that I reworked. It originally had an evil looking witch and I just couldn't deal with it. lol

I have one more card ready but I will upload it tomorrow.

What's the story morning glory? MUSIC!

I just finished my card for the challenge at TLC. The challenge was to use the bird image along with the word art provided by Paulette at TLC. You will find a link for TLC on my sidebar.

After messing around I decided to print the sentiment on the card stock. I put it through the music Cuttlebug folder after I had it postioned just right. I used white core paper so I could distress the music notes. I went over the words morning glory with a black Spica glitter pen. The bird I colored with Copics and then cut out. Got my lace on a little crooked, as usual. lol That red line tape is unforgiving. Now that I see the card nice and enlarged I see I forgot to color the birds eye.

Have a sweet Halloween

I need to put this on the card and it will be finished. The image was from Deb on Cuppas and Cards. She sent it to me last year. I colored with Copics and finished off the tops of the cakes with Diamond Glaze. The orange trim was gifted to me by my friend Debby in Israel. Thank you Debby. I have another image colored the same but haven't made it into a card yet. This was the last of the cute Halloween brads by Recollections at Michaels. They are on sale so I should go today and buy some more.

There is a challenge on TLC that I want to work on today. I haven't even started and it ends at 9:00p.m.
