Original blog hop card

These were the cards I had made for the hop then I read the the instructions again and realized I needed to use an OWH sketch. I made several of the first card. I think I made six because I cut the full sheet of wild paper in 6 pieces. The music note chipboard had several coats of black Twinkling H2Os. I was trying to use up some of my unusual paper on these cards, something a little different.

The stamps are from an Inkadinkadoo acrylic set.

Rock on!

Welcome to the OWH Memorial Day blog hop using sketches from the Stars and Stamps blog.

To connect back to the BLOG HOP HOME click on this link

I wanted to focus on teenagers for my cards. It seems a lot of us have trouble making suitable cards for this age group. The first card uses sketch #33. I used a stamped image and the card is pretty basic. The white of the card base is Bazzill Bling so it does have some pizzaz.

For the girls card I wanted a softer look but still wanted an edgie look. I stamped her on colored paper and mounted the image on more colored paper. For the background I chose  a geometric look. I finished the card with some bling. I used sketch #2 for this card.

I have some blog candy to give away. Scroll down to the next post to have a look

OWH blog hop CANDY!

Winner drawn on May 29 with Random.org. Winner is Mary-Anne V

Because of shipping costs I need to limit this prize to residents of the U.S.

In order to have your name in the drawing you must leave a comment on my cards in the top post.

If you are not familiar with Operation Write Home   this link will provide you with information. It involves a group of card makers that make handmade cards, according to guidelines, for our troops to send home. We ship them to a designated shipper and they take it from there. We also have a thriving group of people on Facebook.

Now for the Candy! Two pictures, one package. Winner takes all. I will probably also throw in some odds and ends. Those are always fun.

Cluck, cluck, cluck.

I did a couple more variations using this chicken paper. The paper called to me! I love making cards that are masculine. I don't have to mess with ribbon.

OWH sketch challenge #122

I normally don't do the sketch challenges. I really enjoyed working with this one. I tried to keep true to the sketch and use the size pieces asked for. When using these sketches keep in mind that you can flip them over.

For the cat on this card I went over it about 3 times with a clear Glaze pen. I used a yellow Crystal lacquer on the eyes and the spots on the body. The sentiment was all a 1 piece acrylic stamp. I cut it so I could place the sentiment on 2 separate papers. I finished the end strips with some Basic Grey brads.

The cupcake was colored with Copic markers. I finished off the icing and the heart with Diamond glaze. The chocolate icing background is from a DCWV snack stack. I love all the yummy papers in this stack so much I bought 3 big pads. The sprinkles paper is from a sheet of Martha Stewart paper with cupcakes on the reverse side.

What's Up

This is my card for the May Our Daily Bread Designs challenge. I picked up this stamp last week at St. Vincent DePaul for $2.70. It is a 1995 PSX stamp. My 5 elements are
1-brads
2-colored image with Copic markers
3-distressed the edges of the neutral piece and colored with chalk inks
4-embossed the green cardstock
5-used chalk ink on the green cardstock to simulate reptile skin

These 2 cards I used paper from the DCWV Safari stack.

Cupcake anyone?

Another batch of cards. I used up the last of the cupcakes I fussy cut from a sheet of paper. They are all so yummy looking. The glitter is embossed in so no harm to the troops. I also used a full sheet of paper that had the icing with sprinkles and several pieces of the cupcake and chocolate paper from a small DCWV pad. The sentiments are from Hero Arts and Inkadinkadoo I think

Ride em cowboy

A quick card using some DCWV cowboy papers. Added some little copper brads to the star. That's all folks. Nothing fancy here.
