I made this card for my youngest grandchild (except for the greats). It seems like not so long ago I was taking care of Erica everyday. I got her off to playschool everyday for a few hours. Then I took her to kindergarten everyday. She has grown into a fine young woman. This summer she will be working full time and getting paid for a 40 hour work week at Girl Scout camp as a counselor. She has been in Girl Scouts all of these years. In the fall she will be starting at the local community college and will enter University after 2 years. Her mother works at LCC so her tuition is free. Can't beat that.
So anyway, she attends high school that has 3 schools in one. She had informal graduation for her school on Wednesday night. Lots of hooting and clapping going on. It was fun. She was the only one in her school to be a valedictorian. She was given several awards. On the formal graduation night for all 3 schools she will be given the black cord for being a North Eugene Scholar along with 11 other students. She was given a North Eugene High School scholarship of $500. That along with her Pell grant should pay for her fees and hopefully her books. It is all so darn expensive. Tuition at our university here is over $8000 this year. So glad Erica can get credits that can be transferred at LCC
We are having a family barbecue on Sunday to celebrate
