Happy bird day

The mid week throwdown this week on OWH is for birthday cards. I have been working exlusively with my very old 6" pads of Basic Grey paper for over a week now. This line is almost gone. I stamped the image on the card and then stamped again on the solid paper. I paper pieced that onto the card. I added some Sakura clear Glaze pen to the fancy parts of the bird. I had enough paper for 2 cards.

Happy Day

Both of these cards used the same sheet of paper as a background. I wish I had more of it. I know the stamp image has a sun but I didn't want it yellow. Works for me in colors.

Acrylic embelishments

My daughter gave me several of these acrylic embellishments. I added a little adhesive to the backs just to make sure they held good. Some I mounted on black card stock to give them a little more importance

Thank you Thank you

I am trying to get some more cards in my OWH box before I mail it. I decided it needed some more thank you cards so I got busy yesterday. The same design on all.

This group is made with the Basic Grey Romani line. Sick of seeing it in my container. I still have a lot left. Actually, I have a lot of small papers from Basic Grey. We won't even talk about the big sheets my daughter passed on to me. Oh, now I feel compelled to count the big ones. I will be right back. How about 71. I am thinking of declaring February Basic Grey month in my house and using nothing else.

This group is made with a pad of DCWV butterfly that I bought on the cheap. Trying to use this strange paper up also.

I have so much pretty paper. I don't know why I feel compelled to use up this paper that I am not crazy about.

Bird day on my blog

I have quite a few cards in my folder with birds so here goes.

The first 2 cards are made with precolored images from Doodle Pantry.

The 3 previous cards are made with a precolored digi from I don't know where. Sorry.

This card is made with a Bugaboo Stamps digi and colored with Copics.

This card uses a Penny Black  stamp on blue paper and colored with Copics. The birds are covered with Glossy Accents. The flowers have a dab of Crystal Lacquer.

Time for the green

The OWH midweek throwdown is for a green card. It doesn't get any greener than this! A hot lime green with a hot pink.

Since I have a lot of green cards I am going to add some more.

Cards done with Prisma Pencils

On the OWH Facebook page there seems to be a lot of interest in coloring with pencils. I decided I would show some of the cards I made before I got my Copics. All of these were done several years ago.

Fishing and hunting

This card has a stamped image from an old PSX stamp I bought at my St. Vincent DePaul store. I stamped it with Hero Arts mid tone blue ink. I made 5 of this card.

The moose image on this card is an Our Daily Bread Designs stamp. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink. I made 4 of this card.

If Life is a Journey

Shuffling around the same papers to use them up. The funny plaid is the reverse of the argyle. I was trying for a masculine look. This is the first time I have used this stamp from My Favorite Things. I think it was in a set I received on the OWH cruise.

Top 10 cards of 2012

It looks like some of my favorites didn't make it to the top ten. It was hard to pick.

#1 This is a personal card made for my granddaughters 19th birthday.

#2 Stamps by Stamp In the Hand. A Goodwill purchase. Colored with Distress Inks

#3 Another pear stamp from the same set.

#4 Colored with Copics. I spritzed the background with Walnut inks.

#5 A La Blanche stamp colored with Copics

#6 Another La Blanche stamp colored with Copics.

                                                            #7 Colored with Copics

                                                              #8 Colored with Copics

#9 Distress inks directly to stamp. I can't remember if it was pads or markers

#10 This is one of the cards I made with the Reverse Iris fold tutorial from the Stars and Stamps blog. I really enjoyed doing these.
