OWH-Mid week challege-Fall

This is my version of a masculine fall card. I had my eye on this stamp at St Vincent dePauls for some time. It was pretty big so I hesitated. I finally broke down and spent $4.50 on it. My daughter says the image is a bear and looks like what she saw in Alaska many years ago. I don't know, I just liked it. I stamped the image then colored all of the black area with a Copic marker. I then copied it onto my computer and printed out all of these perfect images. I then filled in the color with Copics. I have 5 of the top card for OWH. The bottom 2 I am using for personal use. I used sewing on the second card. I wanted to do that with all of them but my machine wouldn't cooperate. The bottom card I used a glaze pen on the blue color. It really pops. On the top 2 cards the paper along the top was hand cut with decorative scissors. The paper is specialty paper that has a nice sheen. It was gifted to me from Australia a couple of years ago from a fellow cardmaker.  I wanted to do some more cards in different colors but my mojo left the house and the images went in the trash can.

Early Bird

I made a dozen of this card for OWH using various colors of paper on the bottom and different rick rack colors. I had my eye on this stamp at M's for awhile. I bought it using the 50% off coupon. It is by Hampton Arts. They make the small $1 stamps you can buy at M's. This was a $13 one.

OWH-Chocolate anyone?

I used up the last of my chocolates paper on these 6 cards. I wish I could find the paper without it being in a pad. It is from the DCWV snack food pad as is the raspberry paper.

OWH-clipart coming out your ears.

I am tired of looking at these in my cards to upload folder. I am doing them all so I can be done with it. I made several of each of these cards using Provo Craft clipart.

OWH-Mid week throwdown-Love

Here is my card for this week. I love this cheerful paper. I think I was able to get 6 cards from it. Can't really remember. I sent the cards off already and I have slept since since then.

I see I haven't updated the blog for a few days. I don't know where time goes. I had my ureter stent removed today so I am back doing percocet. I am not feeling too sharp. I want to finish up some cards I have been working on. Hope I don't mess them up.  lol

OWH-masculine card

I made 2 of these cards with this map. It was more of the strange paper my daughter passed off to me. It was a challenge for sure. The edge around the paper is silver. The card turned out well enough that I may go digging in my stash for more map paper

OWH sketch challenge #73

This card is made with We R Memory Keepers paper except for the red which is Bazzill. I used my new set of Recolections cling stamps. The first time the set has seen ink. The design in the bird went well with the contemporary look of the flowers in the paper.  I think I will spend the day using this set.

OWH-Mid week challenge-Thanksgiving

I pulled out some scraps and made 3 of these cards the same. The sentiment is from Create With TLC. I stamped the Prima flower with a Penny Black script stamp. I added some Crystal Laquer to the centers of the flowers to doll the card up.

Graduation time

The image and sentiment on this card are both from Create With TLC.

I made this card for my youngest grandchild (except for the greats). It seems like not so long ago I was taking care of Erica everyday. I got her off to playschool everyday for a few hours. Then I took her to kindergarten everyday. She has grown into a fine young woman. This summer she will be working full time and getting paid for a 40 hour work week at Girl Scout camp as a counselor. She has been in Girl Scouts all of these years. In the fall she will be starting at the local community college and will enter University after 2 years. Her mother works at LCC so her tuition is free. Can't beat that.

So anyway, she attends high school that has 3 schools in one. She had informal graduation for her school on Wednesday night. Lots of hooting and clapping going on. It was fun. She was the only one in her school to be a valedictorian. She was given several awards. On the formal graduation night for all 3 schools she will be given the black cord for being a North Eugene Scholar along with 11 other students. She was given a North Eugene High School scholarship of $500. That along with her Pell grant should pay for her fees and hopefully her books. It is all so darn expensive. Tuition at our university here is over $8000 this year. So glad Erica can get credits that can be transferred at LCC

We are having a family barbecue on Sunday to celebrate

OWH-ruffle card

I have several of these ruffle cards ready to go out in my next box. This was made with Basic Gray papers. I did manage to make a dent in the supply. I will probably make more in the future. They are fun to make

Hambo Hoedown-Thank you "berry" much

Finally finished my card for this weeks Hoedown. The free image was from their new line of fruit and vegies kids. They have some pretty cute images and you can find them here. This image is Strawberry Kid. The challenge was to use the provided image and sentiment and add some buttons. It seems that most of the cards I make these days are for Operation Write Home. Because I know the troops are not going to use a padded envelope to send the card there is always the concern about buttons not making it through the postal machine. I chose to make a faux star button. I colored Strawberry Kid with Copics and then paper pieced the berry part. Now I want to show you my first version of this card. I decided it was too busy so I did a makeover.

OWH-Happy day

I sent several of this card off to OWH last month. It was made with a piece of Provo Craft clip art. I used Diamond glaze on the water and created a very nice effect. I need to get some pictures of my cards taken. I have been making a lot but I need to get out my lightbox. I am running out of cards to post here
