Virtual Cardmaking Making Party-OWH

CHALLENGE #5

I hadn't planned on doing any of the challenges for this 3 day weekend VCMP but I kind of got caught up in it. I started with challenge 5 which was to use sketch #63 and use up an entire sheet of 12" paper. I do that all the time so it was no problem. I made 6 of these cards using this sheet of Serendipity Owl Pals. I had 2 sheets so I used some strips from the reverse side to use for the narrow strip. The sentiment is computer generated

CHALLENGE #4

This challenge is for things with wings. I used some cute bird paper by 3 Bugs In a Rug that I bought two years ago. How do I know? Because I put the date and the price I paid on the edge of the paper. I will be making 6 of these. The sentiment is computer generated.

CHALLENGE #2

The theme of this challenge is All Creatures Great and Small. The paper is by Imaginisce. This paper is one of my more expensive ones at $1.59. It has a lot of the wet look embossing built in. I couldn't bring myself to cover up the design with a sentiment. Hopefully someone will like it because the lace makes it special. I will be making six of these cards.

I am going to have to add a focal point to this card. It is not working

Our Daily Bread Designs Feb. challenge

The challenge this month was to use fruit on the card.

I love how this card turned out. I have enough paper to make 6 cards. I will use 2 sheets of the bright layers. All of the papers are from K & Company Citronella pad. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with these papers when I bought them but I had to have them. I have some other papers from this pad I will also use like this. I used my cheerlylyndesigns button die and tied string from the Walmart Kids craft department in it.

Done!

Today I am featuring the groups of cards I made with my very old Basic Grey 6" pads. Some of the pads are a good 5 or 6 years old. I wanted to use them all but I am done with them! Maybe I will finish them up later. I probably have the equivalent of 1 pad which is 36 sheets. I am ready to move on to other papers. I made 102 cards and kept 2 of them for my stash. The first group of cards I sent in with my last box. The other groups have all been made in the last 3 weeks.

Click on the first card and you will be able to see all the groups in close up.

Blast Off

The OWH midweek challenge is for cards with kids. I let the designer paper be the showoff on these cards. On the first card I popped up the words. On the second card I did stamp a rocket ship and sentiment.

Happy bird day

The mid week throwdown this week on OWH is for birthday cards. I have been working exlusively with my very old 6" pads of Basic Grey paper for over a week now. This line is almost gone. I stamped the image on the card and then stamped again on the solid paper. I paper pieced that onto the card. I added some Sakura clear Glaze pen to the fancy parts of the bird. I had enough paper for 2 cards.

Happy Day

Both of these cards used the same sheet of paper as a background. I wish I had more of it. I know the stamp image has a sun but I didn't want it yellow. Works for me in colors.

Acrylic embelishments

My daughter gave me several of these acrylic embellishments. I added a little adhesive to the backs just to make sure they held good. Some I mounted on black card stock to give them a little more importance

Thank you Thank you

I am trying to get some more cards in my OWH box before I mail it. I decided it needed some more thank you cards so I got busy yesterday. The same design on all.

This group is made with the Basic Grey Romani line. Sick of seeing it in my container. I still have a lot left. Actually, I have a lot of small papers from Basic Grey. We won't even talk about the big sheets my daughter passed on to me. Oh, now I feel compelled to count the big ones. I will be right back. How about 71. I am thinking of declaring February Basic Grey month in my house and using nothing else.

This group is made with a pad of DCWV butterfly that I bought on the cheap. Trying to use this strange paper up also.

I have so much pretty paper. I don't know why I feel compelled to use up this paper that I am not crazy about.

Bird day on my blog

I have quite a few cards in my folder with birds so here goes.

The first 2 cards are made with precolored images from Doodle Pantry.

The 3 previous cards are made with a precolored digi from I don't know where. Sorry.

This card is made with a Bugaboo Stamps digi and colored with Copics.

This card uses a Penny Black  stamp on blue paper and colored with Copics. The birds are covered with Glossy Accents. The flowers have a dab of Crystal Lacquer.
