OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop

Welcome! I want to keep this post brief so you have time to visit more blogs. The theme this year is cards with patriotic colors.

The stamp I used is from Stampotique. I can't remember what I colored it with. Maybe Copics, maybe Stampin Up markers. As my late mother-in-law would say, "I have slept since then". It doesn't really matter anyway. The letter U was cut with Sizzix Sizzlets that haven't seen any love for a long time. The polka dot paper and the cardstock are all from Bazzill.

The I miss you sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp I bought on the cheap from my St Vincent DePaul thrift store. The Hanging hearts stamp is from Stampotique. I used a lighter shade of blue for the background paper. It is from the DCWV small pad Dots Stripes Plaids. It has some built in wet look embossing.

Thanks for checking out my cards.

Big pop of color!

Sometimes I like to use my Copics. This is a Bugaboo digital image. Paula used this image a week or so ago. I had a packet of a dozen on my desk all ready to color. Well, I colored them all and didn't like them so they went in the round file. I started from scratch and made four cards. I used the Copic X-Pressit blending card. There is such a huge difference when blending colors when you use it. I love these bright citrus colors for summer. The orange Bazzill I have had for years. You know, you wonder when you will ever use it. Today was the day! I combined it with the Bo Bunny yellow Double dot line.

4 you

The ODBD challenge for April is a card featuring insects. I have had this lightning bug paper by Bo Bunny for sometime. I decided this time of the year was a good time to use it. The troops should get this card to send out in the summer. I tried to use colors that would appeal to men so I used kraft paper. The 4 you sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp I bought at our St Vincent DePaul thrift shop. The banner dies are also from Stampin Up. I made 6 of these cards. Seems like I have been making a lot of cards in multiples of 6.

In honor of Suzanne

OWH card maker and supporter, Suzanne, recently passed away. This card is in her honor and inspired by one of her cards.

The image is colored clipart from Provo Craft. The sentiment is from one of OWH stamp sets by Hero Arts. The banner is from Stampin Up. I popped up the sentiment so the card scanned brighter at the top than at the bottom.

Anything for you.

I made 6 cards using this DCWV paper from the Painted Petals Pack. Sometimes it is hard to use striped paper like this. I fussy cut some flowers from another sheet that is full of flowers that are too big for anything else.

Girls make big mess

My 11 and 12 year old great granddaughters busy making cards. What a mess. They even went in the spare bedroom and came out with 2 containers of Halloween stuff. They told me they would clean up and they did. When I got up this morning everything had been put away.

Circles

The Mid Week Throw down on OWH this week was to make a card with circles. I had already pulled these papers because I wanted to work with them so the timing was perfect. They are by Daisy Bucket and have a date of 2008. Just a little old. Papers my daughter gave me when she was trying to whittle down her supplies. I made 8 of these cards.
