Yet more owls






This uses the Hero Arts stamp I bought a week ago. I like to call him "My Sophisticated Owl". Hero Arts calls him "Big Eyed Owl" and indeed that fits. I think the image is suited towards a little older group of people than a lot of the owl stamps. Perhaps to the teenage kids. The first card uses the front and back of the paper from a K&Co. Confetti pad. Lots of birthday papers in it. I can't remember what paper I used on the second card. I made 4 each for my OWH box.

Swirly bird nest

This is a Stampendous stamp I bought and then wondered whatever was I thinking. It has a rectangular image. When I stamped it it was plain ugly. That was months ago. I had another look at it. I stamped with blue Paris Dusk Memento on lightly patterned paper. I colored the bird with a Copic marker and then added a layer of  Diamond Glaze to make it pop. This time I cut in a circle. I have 8 of these for my OWH box. The one with an overload of pearls I will keep in my personal stash.

Lion in recline

 
 
This is the first time I have used this huge Magenta stamp. I bought it last summer at a yard sale at my LSS. I paid about $2 for it. I put my paper on the floor and stepped on the stamp. Had to trim it down to fit the base. I colored it with Copics.

I have so many stamps I want to make cards with. I get busy making a dozen at a time and I need to stop doing that I guess. I will be making 4 of these and then I will move on to another stamp.

OWH Virtual cardmaking Party

Challenge #1
 
  
 
The challenge was to use zig zags on your card. The image is a pre colored digi from Doodle Pantry. The chevron and polka dot papers are K&Co. I used clear glaze on the treasure. The sentiment was done with a no longer available set of Karen Foster snap stamps. I made 12 of these cards.
 
I want to show the green paper I used as a mat. It is from a DCWV Snack pad. I bought 3 of these pads because it had paper in it that I really wanted. I was left with some pretty interesting paper.

Virtual Cardmaking Making Party-OWH

 
CHALLENGE #5 
 
I hadn't planned on doing any of the challenges for this 3 day weekend VCMP but I kind of got caught up in it. I started with challenge 5 which was to use sketch #63 and use up an entire sheet of 12" paper. I do that all the time so it was no problem. I made 6 of these cards using this sheet of Serendipity Owl Pals. I had 2 sheets so I used some strips from the reverse side to use for the narrow strip. The sentiment is computer generated
 
 
 
 
 
CHALLENGE #4
 
This challenge is for things with wings. I used some cute bird paper by 3 Bugs In a Rug that I bought two years ago. How do I know? Because I put the date and the price I paid on the edge of the paper. I will be making 6 of these. The sentiment is computer generated.
 
 
 
CHALLENGE #2
 
The theme of this challenge is All Creatures Great and Small. The paper is by Imaginisce. This paper is one of my more expensive ones at $1.59. It has a lot of the wet look embossing built in. I couldn't bring myself to cover up the design with a sentiment. Hopefully someone will like it because the lace makes it special. I will be making six of these cards.
 
I am going to have to add a focal point to this card. It is not working

Our Daily Bread Designs Feb. challenge


The challenge this month was to use fruit on the card.

I love how this card turned out. I have enough paper to make 6 cards. I will use 2 sheets of the bright layers. All of the papers are from K & Company Citronella pad. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with these papers when I bought them but I had to have them. I have some other papers from this pad I will also use like this. I used my cheerlylyndesigns button die and tied string from the Walmart Kids craft department in it.

Done!

Today I am featuring the groups of cards I made with my very old Basic Grey 6" pads. Some of the pads are a good 5 or 6 years old. I wanted to use them all but I am done with them! Maybe I will finish them up later. I probably have the equivalent of 1 pad which is 36 sheets. I am ready to move on to other papers. I made 102 cards and kept 2 of them for my stash. The first group of cards I sent in with my last box. The other groups have all been made in the last 3 weeks.

The OWH midweek challenge is for cards with kids. I let the designer paper be the showoff on these cards. On the first card I popped up the words. On the second card I did stamp a rocket ship and sentiment.
