Top 10 OWH cards in 2011

I truly enjoyed doing the Safari Dreams series. It was hard to choose my other favorites. A couple of these were quite simple but they just struck my fancy

A little mix of cards

The first card I made for my daughters birthday. I used one of her interesting stamps. I colored in with a lot of Spica glitter pens because she likes glitter.

The next 2 cards were made with my new Hero Arts clock stamp. It stamps an entire card front so I cut it down to fit the card. The sentiment is computer generated. These cards will be for OWH

OWH-Hero Arts thank you

For this card I used OWH sketch #25. I used Hero Arts set #CL231. I colored with Copics and used a Sakura Glaze pen on parts of the owl. I cut out the colored images, stamped the owl again on cardstock to get the feet and popped up  the colored image. I think it makes a nice cheerful card.

OWH skip

The plan was to CASE a card on the skip. I used OWH sketch challenge #98 like Marianne did. I am not lucky enough to yet have the new Hero Arts stamps made in conjunction with OWH. I did have a sheet of Graphic 45 paper that was all clocks. I cut out one and added it to these old Basic Grey papers. I added some cream color Pearl Pen drops to go with the vintage feel. I made a computer sentiment. I have a lot of these clock cutouts so I will be using more of them in the future. I also bought a Hero Arts stamp of a full page of clocks. I need to get that inked up.

Personal Christmas cards.

Three different looks for the same image. This is a stamped image gifted to me. I colored with Copics. The snowflake paper on the last card has flocked flakes on velum. Very elegant looking

OWH mid week challenge -last call for valentines

The pups on the  cards are cut from a Basic Grey paper. I stamped hearts on the side of one card.

OWH sketch challenge #99

A quick card for the 2 year old great Grandaughter. She can carry it around and destroy it, no big deal. The striped paper is a card base from a box of bases I bought last year. Very high quality stock. The plaid is from the same box and I cut it down. The image? From my Hallmark card CD. I printed out the card and cut out the image. I glossed up the cane with red Sakura Glaze pen. I am pressed for time.

OWH-Our Daily Bread challenge for December

The challenge was to make a card using the sentiment as the main focus. I considered this a masculine card but I guess it works for ladies too. The sentiment is a digi from Create With TLC. I mounted it on silver paper and added the heart brads. Our Daily Bread Designs is very kindly paying for the shipping on a large box of cards for every 25 cards linked. Last month there were enough for 2 boxes. Thank you very much.

OWH- Love card

I used Basic Gray papers from the Sugar Rush line. After stamping the sentiment I went over it with a black glaze pen to make it shiny and very black.

OWH-Love cards.

The first card was inspired by Yolanda on OWH. I loved how she threaded the ribbon. The heart was stamped on printed paper, cut out and then I covered completly with a layer of Diamond Glaze. I popped it up for dimension.

The next card I hand cut the heart using the heart on the third card as a guide. The third card is from one of the insert pages put in Somerset magazines. I have had that page of hearts for a long time also.

All three of these cards were made with background paper that I considered leftover from previous years.

OWH-Love-I miss you

The sentiment on the first card is from Create With TLC. The paper has fancy silver threads in it. I put it through an embossing folder. My version of a masculine card. The second card has an Inkadinkadoo stamped image. I used a pink glossy jelly roll pen on the cats flowers after I colored them with Copics. I put a dab of crystal lacquer in the middle. The miss you stamp is a 1992 SU stamp I picked up at St. Vincent DePaul on the cheap. It is one of my favorites because of it's small size.

Love-A valentine for Operation Wrte Home

Trying to make a valentine suitable for a guy. Not so sure it worked. At least it isn't super feminine. I think it will work nicely for a teenage girl. I am going to link this card to Our Daily Bread Designs. They are providing shipping for an  OWH box for each 25 cards linked. The November challenge is for love and valentines.

Love-xoxo

You know how sometimes you fall in love with paper and then don't know what to do with it when you get it home? Such was the case with these peacock papers in the DCWV Royal Garden small pad. I turned the 3 sheets of the same design into love cards for OWH. I matted the papers with Bazzill Lime Crush. The large heart is from the peacock line of papers. The smaller heart was made with some glossy cardstock I colored with alcohol inks. The words were stamped with black Stazon

OWH- midweek showdown- any occasion

The image on this card is Moonlit Fairy by Rubber Stampede. I stamped it on the paper and then stamped again on yellow paper for the moon. I cut out the moon and lined it up in the correct place. The throwdown asked for a card with no sentiment. The top card works but I prefer the bottom card.

Birthday card

I made this card for my granddaughter Charmaine. I used Bo Bunny papers. I stamped the bird on the blue, painted parts with Twinkling H2Os and cut it out. I added Swarovski crystal bling to the tail. I found this image a little puzzling as the head is facing in a strange direction when you look at the tail. I just kind of guessed at how to arrange it on the card. This will go in the mail Monday. She will be 27 years old in a few days. I miss her and her kids. I wish she still lived in Eugene.

Cuppa time

This cup image is called " Teacups Dancing " by Stamp In The Hand. The stamp is one I picked up at St. Vincent DePaul for $3.60. I have been looking at if for months. It was calling to me so I gave in. It was 1 of 2 stamps that I bought and I hate to say it, I was weak.  I broke my spending freeze that I put in place in September. I have been good though. I have spent only about $7 on craft stuff in the last 2 months except for basic supplies. I colored some of the images but I liked this monochromatic look the best. I made 4 of these cards, 3 of which will go to OWH. The other one I will put in my personal stash

Birthday Wishes.

I made several of these cards for OWH. I embossed the gift on glossy paper. The background paper is from a DCWV pad. It has the embossed sparkles. I went over the sentiment with a Gelly Roll glossy pen. It is just about empty and I can't seem to find another one.

BOO!

I have been a slacker this year. Just couldn't get the mojo for Halloween cards. This is 1 of only 2 cards I made.

Family and friends

The first card I made for a niece that is expecting her second child very soon. It is a Dolly Mamma stamp image. The fall card was sent to my longtime online friend Debby in Israel. The bling is Swarovski crystals. Both cards were colored with Copic markers

Misc. cards

Some more cards with the image cut in such a way that a sentiment could be stamped.

My sister has been here for a week and I am getting nothing done.

Butterflies

A couple of versions of the same Inkadinkadoo stamp stamped on patterned paper. I colored in the butterflies with a Copic marker
