OWH-ruffle card

I have several of these ruffle cards ready to go out in my next box. This was made with Basic Gray papers. I did manage to make a dent in the supply. I will probably make more in the future. They are fun to make

Hambo Hoedown-Thank you "berry" much

Finally finished my card for this weeks Hoedown. The free image was from their new line of fruit and vegies kids. They have some pretty cute images and you can find them here. This image is Strawberry Kid. The challenge was to use the provided image and sentiment and add some buttons. It seems that most of the cards I make these days are for Operation Write Home. Because I know the troops are not going to use a padded envelope to send the card there is always the concern about buttons not making it through the postal machine. I chose to make a faux star button. I colored Strawberry Kid with Copics and then paper pieced the berry part. Now I want to show you my first version of this card. I decided it was too busy so I did a makeover.

OWH-Happy day

I sent several of this card off to OWH last month. It was made with a piece of Provo Craft clip art. I used Diamond glaze on the water and created a very nice effect. I need to get some pictures of my cards taken. I have been making a lot but I need to get out my lightbox. I am running out of cards to post here

OWH-Any Hero card.

I sent 4 of these to OWH with notes inside. I posted it on Facebook but want to post it on my blog in honor of Memorial Day.

I have a brother, Donald, that died in a car wreck in 1961. He was 25 years old. He was serving in the Air Force in the military police and had been named an airman of the month. He was on his way home from the air base in Albuquerkue and went off the road and hit a bridge abuttment. He was only going 25 miles an hour. We always wondered if someone ran him off the road because he had made an enemy in his job. He left behind a wife and 5 small children, the youngest only 3 months old. He was buried in Boise in a military cemetary. A stateside hero. I will never forget the taps and the gun salute. His wife raised the kids and never remarried.

Hambo Hoedown

In playing the Hambo Hoedown each week you are sent a free digi if you entered the week before. This week we were sent the Moonscape-digi. We were to combine it with another Hambo image. I have several Hambo digis and I chose to combine it with Mouse Chef digi.

If you click on the Hambo Hoedown button on the left side of my blog it will take you to the challenge blog. From there you can connect with their store. They have lots of fun stuff

OWH-Rawr!-sketch challenge #69

I occasionally do sketch challenges. This was pretty quick. I only had enough of the green for 2 cards. I ruined 1 piece trying to get the panels aligned. I do have the remainder of the dinosaur paper to work with though.

Hambo Hoedown

I have been out of the loop with the Hambo Hoedown for awhile. I am going to get back in it with this card. It is a digi called Clown Gifts. The challenge this week was to use chipboard. The chipboard is the eighty on top.

I made this card for my oldest siblings birthday which is in a week or so. I wanted it to look very festive. I always enjoy using this image. You can find this image at Hambo Stamps. They have lots of fun digis and rubber stamps too.

OWH-Midweek throwdown

The challenge this week was things that fly. The image is a digi. I had to tone down the whiteness of the picture in order to see the vine embossing on the background. It still just barely shows. In real life the card is very white on white on black. I added the red for just a pop of color. I was going for a very clean and simple look. I popped up the mounted image.
