OWH-Yoo hoo!

Today I have some simple cards using owls I cut from a sheet of patterned paper. The yoo hoo stamp is from my stash. The paper with the fancy edge is one of the fancy papers from My Angela that I challenged myself to use. For some reason These cards really made me smile and I would look at them and just keep saying yoo hoo.  lol

Hambo Hoedown #4

I had a hard time working with this layout which was the challenge for this image. I changed the oval to the rectangle and rounded the corners. I also used a different font for the sentiment. It worked better for how I wanted to use it. The image was colored with Copics. For the medal I used Twinkling H2Os in a gold color. It has that nice glimmer that the twinklers have, you just can't see it here. Makes it look like a real medal. I used different papers for the background. The stripe and the paper with circles is DCWV natural pad. It has that nice shiny piece in the stripe and the dots. I wanted to keep this card masculine. It is for OWH. I thought it could be used as a Fathers Day card.

On my sidebar I have a link to Hambos Hoedown blog. You can go to the Hambos site from there and look at the fun images they have. I am sure you will find something that you just have to have!

OWH-Embossing challenge

Here is my card. I chose to use only the single heart. The music background is a stamp from Sonlight Impressions. It was RAKed to me by a fellow stamper, Cathy. Thank you Cathy.  I used Vintage Sepia Versafine as the ink. The sentiment is from Create With TLC. Another version of this card is one I didn't emboss as a whole. I felt that the embossing just didn't look that well with the stamped background. I will try this again on just plain paper.

OWH- Midweek throwdown

The challenge this week is for an any occasion card. I think this works for a few occasions. This is one of my favorite Penny Black stamp images

OWH-Spring cards.

Just a quick post of a couple of spring cards. Both of these cards were made using one of those strange shaped pieces of paper my Angela gave me. The first one I stamped a bird by Inkadinkadoo on colored paper. I layered it up with Diamond Glaze and cut the image out after it dried. The digital sentiment is from Create With TLC. It comes in one of her packs she sells. I printed it out on I think, a K&Co. label.

The next card has a digital image from Bugaboo. I colored it with Copics.

My ear still hurts. I am heading to bed for a nap.

OWH-It's bird day

I will be brief here. I have an ear infection and I don't feel like chatting.

These cards have digital images by Robyns Fetish. I colored with Copics.

Did I say brief?

OWH skinny leg girls.

I can't remember who makes these skinny leg girls but they are fun to play with. I have 3 different papers here from the same pad, can't remember who. It is pad with butterflies on all the pages. Very suitable for spring.

Mothers day

Create With TLC has a blog hop starting Saturday morning the 19th. My next 3 cards all use her sentiments. My card will be the Sweet card. Love to see you stop by her blog and do some hopping.

I made several of these cards for OWH. They were pretty simple. The heart frame image is from Create With TLC. I put the word "mom"  in a Word document then merged the heart image onto the word. I mounted the image onto a 4" paper doily from the baking section at the store. I was afraid the rigors of shipping so many times would rip the doily so I glued all the tiny points down with a dab of Diamond glaze. I added some pearls to dress it all up. I also went over the flowers with a glaze pen to deepen the color just a bit.

Hambo Hoedown #3-I was supposed to fly south?

The Hambo Hoedown  this week provided a pelican image. The card needed to incorporate the colors blue, brown and tan with a beach theme.  About 3 years ago my kids brought me home from Hawaii some real ugly scrapbook paper. Well, some of it was okay. I think I used this stuff one other time to make a card. When I saw the challenge was a beach theme I thought this would be the time to dig it out and use it. The word sentiment is from Create with TLC.  The wavy look it has is perfect with the wavy layers on the bottom.

Create with TLC blog hop

I love how this card turned out. The paper is from the DCWV snack pad. The sprinkles on this are all shiny and yummy looking. I liked this pad of paper so much I bought 2 of them. I made 6 cards with this color combo and I will do some more with other colors. The word art is from Create with TLC. It is from one of Paulettes sentiment packages that you can purchase. I knew the minute I saw it that I had to have it. You can find it here. Just scroll down a bit.

I think this is a perfect card for a parent to send home to a child, big or little. This post has been up a few days so I am modifying it a bit. In case you are wondering why I made so many, they are for Operation Write Home.

I hope you are enjoying this hop. Your next stop will be at Shelly's blog. You can find it here. Leave Paulette some love too for organizing this.  If you read this far, the password is "It's a digi world". Write it down!
