OWH skinny leg girls.

I can't remember who makes these skinny leg girls but they are fun to play with. I have 3 different papers here from the same pad, can't remember who. It is pad with butterflies on all the pages. Very suitable for spring.

Mothers day

Create With TLC has a blog hop starting Saturday morning the 19th. My next 3 cards all use her sentiments. My card will be the Sweet card. Love to see you stop by her blog and do some hopping.

I made several of these cards for OWH. They were pretty simple. The heart frame image is from Create With TLC. I put the word "mom"  in a Word document then merged the heart image onto the word. I mounted the image onto a 4" paper doily from the baking section at the store. I was afraid the rigors of shipping so many times would rip the doily so I glued all the tiny points down with a dab of Diamond glaze. I added some pearls to dress it all up. I also went over the flowers with a glaze pen to deepen the color just a bit.

Hambo Hoedown #3-I was supposed to fly south?

The Hambo Hoedown  this week provided a pelican image. The card needed to incorporate the colors blue, brown and tan with a beach theme.  About 3 years ago my kids brought me home from Hawaii some real ugly scrapbook paper. Well, some of it was okay. I think I used this stuff one other time to make a card. When I saw the challenge was a beach theme I thought this would be the time to dig it out and use it. The word sentiment is from Create with TLC.  The wavy look it has is perfect with the wavy layers on the bottom.

Create with TLC blog hop

I love how this card turned out. The paper is from the DCWV snack pad. The sprinkles on this are all shiny and yummy looking. I liked this pad of paper so much I bought 2 of them. I made 6 cards with this color combo and I will do some more with other colors. The word art is from Create with TLC. It is from one of Paulettes sentiment packages that you can purchase. I knew the minute I saw it that I had to have it. You can find it here. Just scroll down a bit.

I think this is a perfect card for a parent to send home to a child, big or little. This post has been up a few days so I am modifying it a bit. In case you are wondering why I made so many, they are for Operation Write Home.

I hope you are enjoying this hop. Your next stop will be at Shelly's blog. You can find it here. Leave Paulette some love too for organizing this.  If you read this far, the password is "It's a digi world". Write it down!

OWH-paper challenge

Today I am going to post 4 cards. My Angela gave me a bunch of paper and in it was several pieces of wierd shapes. I decided I was going to challenge myself to use these shapes. I chopped up the paper into useable sizes and this is what I came up with

The main images here are both from Inkadinkadoo sets.

For this one I added a big Prima flower to a circle of glossy paper that I colored with alcohol inks.

This one has a stamped image from a Fancy Pants Pollen set. I used a nice layer of Diamond Glaze on the petals.

I rather like how these all turned out.

OWH blog skip

This is the last stop on the skip. I hope you have enjoyed the different take we have all had with this Whipper Snapper image provided to us by Barb. If you arrived here other than via the links on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog you can click this link and start at the top.

Barb sent all of us a kit with the image and included the papers we were to use. The image really puzzled me. I could see his feet facing forward. I saw what I thought was his nose down low or maybe his tail. It looked like his rear end sticking up at the top but why would a rear end have whiskers! I thought he was bent over looking through his legs because his ears were touching the ground. That couldn't be because his feet were facing forward! I went to the Whipper Snapper site and found the stamp so I knew I could get the colors right. Finally I gave the site link to a couple of friends and asked them to explain this image to me. They laughed at me. What I thought was his nose was a belly button. He had his head tipped back and was smelling the flower. Of course! Now I could see it! Yes, I was able to laugh at myself.

I had 4 papers to choose from so I picked 3 to work with.

There is a bunny hop (blog hop) coming up soon and I would like to invite you all to sign up here. There is also a bloghop button on my sidebar with the link. I am going to link you back now to S&S blog

Happy 21st birthday

This is a quick card I made yesterday for OWH to send to a young lady serving in Afghanistan.

The crazy birds image is a Hambos digital image. I colored with Copics, added Diamond Glaze to the hats. The chocolates paper is from the DCWV snack pad. This young ladies favorite colors are pink and brown so it worked well.

Eye Monster

This is the second card for Hambos Hoedown. When I found this free digi in my inbox this morning I smiled BIG! I love monsters an this Eye Monster is adorable. I got busy right away this morning so I could get this card in the mail.

The base of the card I have had put together a couple of weeks. When my Sammy was here she told me how much she liked the combination so I used it. I printed the image out on some Prima patterned paper that I love and then cut the image out. Because the words printed next to the image I chunked them up into small pieces. I placed the words inside a Sizzix die heart. For the image I colored in just a few places with my Copic markers and then added some Spica glitter pen. The heart eyelets are Creative Impressions.

Here is a link to  Hambos. You can get to the blog via the button on my sidebar. They have great digis and also rubber stamps.

Valentines

Since my friends received their valentines it is time to add the cards here. I got busy with other cards this year and made very few valentines. Such is life.

The card with the animal was made with a freebie digi. I glossed up the balloons with Diamond Glaze. The tag was made with a Sizzix die. The heart is a fuzzy little brad that my friend Peggy sent me. Thanks Peggy. The paper is from Basic Grey. Ribbon from my stash.

The card with the cupcakes has a digi image by Hope Jacare. I love her artwork. I colored with Copics. Added Diamond Glaze on the cakes icing. Mounted it on my newest Nestability die cut. The heart paper is older than the hills. No idea who makes it.

The card with the topiary tree is an image from Inky Antics. Also colored it with Copics. Used Diamond Glaze on the hearts. (Do I love Diamond Glaze? Oh yes!) The chipboard V is from my stash. I covered it with paper, painted with Twinkling H2Os and then put through my Cuttlebug.

OWH-Red and white

Several of the papers that my Angela gave me were round with scallops or square with fancy edges. You get the idea. I decided I would challenge myself to use these papers. The paper for these cards was a big scalloped edge circle. I started by chopping it up into the sizes I needed for OWH cards. I have already shipped these cards off. I am thinking I made about 2 of each design. After I did the cards with scallops I still had some chunks left so I just had to use those too. I stamped the birds and glossed up with Diamond Glaze. The middle card I cut the bird out after it dried. It always tickles me how rubbery these cut out images feel. The butterflies I think are a Nestability die. Not sure about that but I got them from a play day with my friend Teresa. I kept the backgrounds on white because I liked the clean look.
