OWH-Hello to you

I made five cards with this design and paper. Again, very old paper. The acrylic flowers were a purchase from long ago from Michaels $ bin. Looks like they were made to go with this paper! The digital sentiment is from TLC.

OWH-Valentines with stickers.

I have had these Penny Black valentine stickers forever. The package says they were put out in 2006. In making these cards for OWH I have been trying to use my stash. It is fun using scraps of paper but I admit I did buy 4 sheets just to use for valentines. I also bought some lace trim.

OWH-Here's a big hug.

I finished six of these cards today. When I scanned I couldn't get the color corrected on the image. The girl is actually quite pink. Well, in this image she is a girl! So very pink. I may do some in greens or blues that aren't girly. I colored with Copics. Did the eyes and teeth with Diamond Glaze, the spots I went over with a Sakura Glaze pen. The digital image is Hope Jacare.

OWH-Kiss, a jumper cable for the heart

I did eight cards with this design with minor variations of trim. The word art is from TLC. The heart is a Sizzix die. On this card the center of the flower was a brown metal dot by Colorbok. I colored it with a dark red Copic marker. I love the marbled look the marker gave it. The heart (from Peggy) was red but the wrong shade so I colored with H2Os and now they are nice and shiny. These cards will arrive at their destination in time for Valentines Day.

OWH-Frogs Rule!

Moving right along with cards for Operation Write Home. The What's "hop"pening card was made with a dimensional frog sticker. His feet look a little fragile, like they might get bent if not handled gently. I may just keep and send to a grandson. The other card was made with super old Basic Grey frog paper. Thank goodness it is the last of this ugly paper. I added blue Sakura crystal lacquer to the spots on his body so he does look pretty cute. The fly paper is from a pad of K&Co. The only sheet I had. My Candice shared with me. The digital sentiment is from TLC. She makes such unusual word art.

OWH-Cards for kids

These three cards were all made with scraps. Dug into my stash and found these really old dimensional stickers. Dressed them up a bit with some Sakura crystal Lacquer. Tried to make them kid proof. I put brads on one and one I sewed the acrylic buttons to the trim. The word art on all three cards is by TLC.

This is quite fun using scraps. I have hundreds of sheets of paper that have not been cut into. lol

Paper scraps cards-OWH

These old Deja View papers must be 4 years old. I still like them. Liked them well enough that I bought more than 1 sheet each. I don't do that anymore. Learned my lesson. Too many pretty papers out there to be using more than 1 sheet of any. I used the same basic design for 4 cards, just different papers. Again, tried to not get too girly with the cards. Keeping them mostly simple

Operation Write Home project

I have decided to focus on making some cards for this project. I am done with fall cards. Other than a couple of birthday cards for family I need to make in November I have nothing to make. I don't like making Christmas cards.

Here are 2 I made today with scraps. I am going to concentrate on Love cards with Valentines day in the future. I thought these 2 would work to send to a guy. Nothing frilly going on here. That big heart is made with Tim Holtz grungeboard. I am in love with it! You can cut with scissors. This heart I embossed with the Cuttlebug and then painted with Twinkling H2Os. The paper is paper that I just had to have and then couldn't figure out how to use. This is the last of it pretty much.

I have some more cards I will post tomorrow.

A basted turkey

After throwing away 5 images I colored over the last few days I was finally able to get some colored that were okay. I still had major problems with the color of the pie crust. With all the Copic markers I have you would think I could get it right. NOT! I have 5 images and I made up 4 cards like this with some minor variations. I wish Erica would color all of my images. Dreaming!

Digital image is from Whimsy Doodles.

I finally got some watermarks. Don't ask mw why. Can't imagine anyone trying to snatch my card images. lol Still trying to figure out where to place them and how transparent I need them. Just another learning curve I guess.
